Based in Michigan, Lake Trust Credit Union needed a new 100,000 square foot headquarters. Their main goal: to exemplify the organization's vision as the “un-bank” to operate on a completely new paradigm.

To achieve this goal, we set out to create a facility with a 100% open office environment that would foster collaboration, enhance communication, and encourage creativity. SmithGroup, the architect we worked hand in hand with on this project, worked with Lake Trust to guide the project team through interactive design workshops, with each session directly involving up to 40 participants that would shape their new workplace. 

The result was a workspace with a wide variety of settings that helped to accomplish work by using a balance of open collaborative and focus spaces. This included enclaves, high tech conference rooms, lounge conference spaces, open meeting spaces and a full service cafe. The facility drives team member engagement allowing each user to choose where and how they work throughout the day.
